Hi everyone,
It’s been a great summer. Lots of solid practice happening at the shala. As the seasons shift, practice somehow always seems sweeter to me. See if that happens for you, too.
Some things happening at the shala:
Chanting/Sanskrit
Cheryl Oliver will offer a chanting/Sanskrit session at Mysore Phoenix (3302 N 3rd Street) on Thursday, August 22nd, from 6:00-7:30 PM. Price for this session is $10.00. Cheryl is a devoted long-term practitioner. Chanting is something that deeply aligns with asana practice; see if you feel the vibe. Everyone is welcome. Ping me if you’d like to join us.
Detailed Review of the Standing Poses
On Sunday, September 8, I’ll do a detailed look at each of the poses in the standing series — from padangusthasana to virabhadrasana. We’ll start at 9:00AM, just after led primary. Don’t worry, it won’t be like doing another practice after you’ve just finished led class. But you will be nice and warm, so we can play around with each of the poses, observe its inner structure, look at some details, and discuss any questions you might have. This session is offered as part of your monthly shala dues.
Evening Mysore Practice
People wanted an evening Mysore practice, so I committed to offering it over the summer (June-August) on Monday, Wednesday and Friday 5:00-7:00 PM. Good news is that we’re going to keep it going into the fall. I look forward to evening practice in a shala filled with the soft light of autumn.
I wrote a new post about the characteristics of our minds. Our bodies change as we commit to daily practice, and our minds do, too. Can practice change your karma? I vote yes.
Om shreem maha Lakshmi namaha!
