One afternoon, after a bit of a walk, we decided to check out another local place, Gokul Chats. Gokulam is the name of the suburb we’re in, and Chats means snacks. Gokul Chats is an open air place that serves lunch and snacks – and, we’d heard, some really excellent chai.

You can see that there are two rows of plastic tables and chairs, one row under the awning of the restaurant, and one under a row of mature trees.

Pretty much in the center of the picture is a stop sign at a bit of a distance. Stop signs are rare, so it was interesting to see one. It’s a pretty busy highway, so stopping before driving onto it seems like a good idea. Traffic signals (almost non-existent) and stop signs (rare) are not something people necessarily comply with. Suggestions, not rules.

And here’s the front of Gokul Chats. As it turns out, the chai rumors were true – the tea was excellent. And it was nice to sit outside and relax a bit.
